The joy is in the giving
I spent an extreme amount of money time earlier today at Target. And I'm not quite sure if I ended up buying things that will make my three year-old niece and a five year-old nephew happy (for their birthdays this Saturday), or things that appealed to me.
Will you look at this little lantern?!

And this cheery pinwheel?

I think it's a little bit of both.

i have two kids and i think you did just fine. my kids would love either of those. i hope you are going to be giving the boy the lantern. you know if you do, you'll be his favorite aunt forever!

It must have been "Spend too much at Target" day because I found several things I didn't know I couldn't live without. I only went in to return two things! I won't mention how many I came out of there with...mercy.
Good choice on the toys! So adorable.

I think you did great. My nephew has his birthday Saturday as well. I was thinking a magnifying glass, which I gave to my daughter for her birthday. She loves hunting for clues. But, I love that lantern. Target here I come!
:D

OH! Is that the lantern that makes night time outside noises? We had that one and Kenny wore the batteries out over and over - he used it as a night light. He loved hearing "night time in my woom!"
Pinwheels are timeless!

Did you take these with your new Nikon? If so, looks like you made the right decision.

I saw that Cynthia Rowley Pinwheel and thought it would be so fun for a mid-century lawn party!
